Inspired by a little visitor to my front garden, this painting began with a photograph I took of a honey bee busy amongst the lavender when it was in full bloom.
I wanted to capture the softness and movement of the lavender, with its beautiful purples, pinks and unexpected flashes of turquoise, while bringing the bee into focus.
It's a celebration of colour, nature and those lovely little moments happening right outside our doors, if we take the time to notice them.
Original Oil on Canvas. Ready to Hang. 18 × 36 inches (46 × 91 cm)
Currently on display at Augustus Gelatery. After purchase, I’ll be in touch to arrange collection. Please note that staff are unable to remove artworks from the walls.
